Creating a Safe Space

For The LGBTQ+ Community

The Therapy Journey
You may find the experience of counselling anxiety-provoking at first, you may not know where might it go, or what it might reveal. I provide a trusting and comfortable relationship for you to explore these feelings, in a boundaried and safe space.

A Safe Space
The space I invite you into enables you to talk about any issues that are important to you, some of which you may never have talked about before, in an open and honest way, without fear of judgement.

Understanding You
You may be suffering from internalised homophobia, we can discuss this, how it feels for you and how you can free yourself. Shame or anger around being gay, constantly striving for perfection in all aspects of your life. Addictive or compulsive behaviours, avoidance or self-defeating thought processes. I can help you find your authentic self.

Our Relationship
I aim to provide care and support to you whilst we are working together. I make no judgement of who you are, or what you do. There will no set structure to the counselling session, but the time will allow us to explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions, in an open, honest and thought provoking way.

About Stephen Hanscomb

MA, AdipPsych, UKCP, MBACP

I have worked extensively within the LGBTQ+ community for many years. Working holistically with GSRD (Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity) issues allows me to sit alongside people, to listen and actively work to find their authentic true self.

As an Integrative therapist, I work with a number of methodologies to work holistically with my clients. Everyone’s journey is unique, so there is no set structure, however, we may look at your relational life experience to-date, your current situation and what you want for the future.
